Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Painted Post, NY, seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, build, program, test, and debug automated process machines in the firing area. You will join a cross-functional controls team to enhance sophisticated manufacturing systems with a focus on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and 1–3 years in controls, automation, or related fields, plus hands-on experience with PLCs, motion control, robotics, and vision systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in controls, automation, or related fields.
• Experience with machine/motion control systems in manufacturing environments.
• Strong technical curiosity and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in team and independent settings.
• Familiarity with control system integration and architectures, PLCs/PAC, motion control, and safety hardware.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical Controls expert for development and troubleshooting of production equipment in the Firing area in Painted Post, NY.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance to implement new functionality based on production needs.
• Adhere to electrical controls standards and manage changes during off-shift activities as needed.
• Communicate benefits and risks of engineered solutions to Operations and Leadership.
• Gain advanced manufacturing exposure with hands-on impact and growth opportunities.
