Job summary

OtterBase is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to design, program, troubleshoot and commission industrial control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with boilers, steam systems, cooling towers, and water treatment, plus strong PLC and DCS knowledge.

The role involves startup and commissioning activities, process optimization, and root cause analysis to improve reliability and efficiency in industrial utilities. 6-month contract-to-hire, on-site in Michigan.

Description: Seeking a Process Controls Engineer with experience designing, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning industrial control systems. The ideal candidate has experience supporting boilers, steam systems, cooling towers, water treatment, or other industrial utility/process systems, along with strong PLC, DCS, and instrumentation experience.

Responsibilities/skills:

• 3+ years of Controls, Process Controls, or Automation Engineering experience
• Experience supporting boilers, steam systems, cooling towers, water treatment, or other industrial utility systems
• PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, or similar)
• DCS experience (Honeywell, DeltaV, ABB, iFIX, or similar)
• Instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, conductivity)
• Startup/commissioning, troubleshooting, process optimization, and root cause analysis
