Job summary

OtterBase is seeking a Controls Engineer to support design, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment. This role will work closely with production and maintenance teams to support PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, and plant automation systems while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in controls/automation, experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs, and familiarity with HMI development, robotics, VFDs, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of controls, automation, PLC programming, or industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, Step 7, Simotion Scout) and/or Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000, RSLogix).
• Experience with HMI development, troubleshooting, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to support equipment startup, commissioning, debugging, and production issues.
• Experience with robotics, servo systems, VFDs, and industrial networking is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but can be waived for relevant hands-on experience.
• Automotive, stamping, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments.
• Experience supporting high-volume production equipment and plant operation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
