Qualifications

Keep production rolling at Amsted Rail – Griffin Wheel (Keokuk, IA)As the leading maker of railroad wheels in North America, we rely on sharp, safety-first electricians to keep complex equipment online. In this Industrial Controls Electrician role, you’ll support our Keokuk, IA foundry by maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing electrical systems that power a 24/7 heavy manufacturing environment.A day in the roleDiagnose and repair electrical systems: drive motors and field devices (proximity switches, limit switches, lasers).Maintain and troubleshoot PCs/PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), process control loops, and related electronic/electrical equipment.Connect to and work within Allen-Bradley SLC 500 and ControlLogix platforms to isolate faults and perform program changes.Install new equipment wiring: bend and run conduit and sealtite, pull and terminate conductors, and commission new runs.Apply rigorous safety practices aligned to OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hot Work, Mobile Equipment Operation) and NFPA 70E PPE standards.What you bringProven safety mindset and working knowledge of OSHA policies and programs.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-starter who documents work precisely and tracks preventive maintenance data.Advanced schooling and/or 5+ years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required.Successful completion of screening and skills tests.ScheduleOff-shift position with daily and weekend overtime as required.Amsted Rail’s Equal Opportunity Statement:Amsted Rail is an Equal Opportunity employer.
