Job summary

The Freudenberg Group in Durham, NC seeks a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to proactively identify and prevent failures across PLC, HMI, SCADA, and power systems. You’ll interpret operator feedback, read electrical diagrams, and work with a multidisciplinary team to support 24/7 operations.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, a two-year technical degree in related fields, and PLC/HMI/VFD proficiency.

Qualifications

3–5 years of electrical technical support in an industrial environment
Two-year technical degree preferred; certifications beneficial
CCST Level I preferred or obtainable with company support
PLC, HMI, and VFD experience required; GE/Emerson/Siemens PLC experience preferred
Understanding of Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O, Serial and Ethernet comms
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Ability to work overtime for 24/7 operations and obtain PIT and aerial lift certifications on site

Responsibilities

Provide skilled electrical maintenance support to identify and prevent failures
Maintain, test, and repair electrical systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, and controls
Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings and diagrams
Contribute to maintenance management via root cause analysis
Collaborate with mechanical, process, and reliability teams to prioritize tasks
Support ISO/TS quality by maintaining sensor data and controls equipment
Assist engineering in design, installation, startup, and maintenance of equipment
Evaluate safety system robustness and ensure ISO-standard performance
Maintain high workmanship standards and 5S in shared areas
