Job summary

Withum's Tax Services Group is seeking a seasoned tax professional to lead complex returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Based in Houston with hybrid work options, you will collaborate with CPAs and industry leaders to deliver accurate tax strategies and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or MS in Taxation, 8+ years in public accounting tax, strong analytical and client-service skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while mentoring staff toward

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license or Master of Science in Taxation.
• 8+ years of prior experience in the tax department of a public accounting, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns
• Strategic planning for clients including advising on federal and state compliance issues
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Identifying tax planning opportunities
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
• Seeking and developing new clients/business
