Job summary

Bilfinger North America is seeking a Construction Manager to plan, schedule, and manage self-perform construction projects at large chemical or manufacturing plants, ensuring safety, cost, schedule and quality targets.

You will develop work packages, oversee multiple projects from $2M to $5M, mentor crew, and coordinate with clients, engineers and subcontractors. Midwest travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the industrial construction industry.
• Experience executing and overseeing projects involving piping, sanitary tubing, tanks, conveyors, equipment foundations and setting equipment and systems.
• Extensive knowledge of construction and engineering means and methods.
• Experience in producing detailed estimates.
• Must demonstrate a strong ability to adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrate integrity consistent with Bilfinger’s core values.
• Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.
• Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, systems may include but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, Lean Construction Principles, other construction systems.
• Mentor and train assistant level operations team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage all facets to complete projects within budget, on time, and with quality; manage submittals and change; coordinate with client and team.
• Estimating: Develop detailed labor and material estimates, takeoffs, and requisitions based on specs and drawings.
• Subcontractor Management: Solicit proposals from at least 3 vendors, evaluate costings, and coordinate buyout and site visits.
• Scheduling: Create and maintain start, progress, and completion schedules; track costs and status with logs and meetings.
• Business Development: Support pursuit of new work and proposals; grow earned revenues and gross profit.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with HSEQ guidelines and OSHA requirements.
• Regional travel in the Midwest will be required.
• On-site office environment with daily site walks and varying weather conditions.
