Job summary

J. Davis Construction, a family-owned general contractor, is seeking an Industrial Project Executive to lead business development, preconstruction, client services, and project management for an assigned sector.

The role focuses on growing client relationships, winning new work, managing budgets and staff, and ensuring safe, timely delivery with high client satisfaction. Mentors project managers and builds a strong, low-turnover department.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience including business development and client relationship management.
• Experience managing multiple commercial projects and leading project management teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contract delivery methods including GMP, Lump Sum, CM at-Risk, and Design-Build.
• Demonstrated financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, and margin oversight.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and reinforce the company mission and core values at all times.
• Develop and maintain strategic client relationships that generate new business opportunities.
• Lead project pursuits, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to secure new work and expand market presence.
• Support marketing initiatives and sector growth strategies.
• Create and manage the annual business development budget to ensure resources are allocated effectively, in coordination with the Director of Business Development and COO.
• Provide executive oversight for commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and contract compliance.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow, and client satisfaction across assigned projects.
• Support project teams with strategic guidance and problem resolution.
• Mentor, develop, and support Project Managers and operational staff.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
• Promote company values, employee engagement, and professional growth.
• Partner with executive leadership to improve processes and drive operational excellence.
