Job summary

J. Davis Construction is seeking a Project Executive to lead industrial construction initiatives, drive business development, and manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You will build client relationships, pursue new work, and mentor PM teams while ensuring projects stay on time, on budget, and meet client expectations. The role emphasizes strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration across internal teams to expand market presence in warehouses and manufacturing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience including business development and client relationship management.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
• Experience managing multiple commercial projects and leading project management teams.
• Knowledge of GMP, Lump Sum, CM at-Risk, and Design-Build delivery methods.
• Financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, and margin oversight.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and client communication skills.

Position Summary

The Project Executive will be focused on Industrial Construction area with ability to lead business development, preconstruction, client services, and project management for an assigned sector at J. Davis Construction. The Industrial Construction Project Executive is responsible for growing client relationships, winning new work, managing budgets and staff across the sector, and making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with high client satisfaction. The Project Executive also mentors the team and helps build a strong, low-turnover department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Relations

• Promotes and reinforces the company mission and core values at all times
• Develop and maintain strategic client relationships that generate new business opportunities.
• Lead project pursuits, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to secure new work and expand market presence.
• Support marketing initiatives and sector growth strategies.
• Create and manage the annual business development budget to ensure resources are allocated effectively, in coordination with the Director of Business Development and COO

Project & Operations Leadership

• Provide executive oversight for commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and contract compliance.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Monitor financial performance, cash flow, and client satisfaction across assigned projects.
• Support project teams with strategic guidance and problem resolution.
• Mentor, develop, and support Project Managers and operational staff.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
• Promote company values, employee engagement, and professional growth.
• Partner with executive leadership to improve processes and drive operational excellence.

Qualifications
