Job summary

STRUCTURAL Chicago, located in Schiller Park, IL, is seeking a Project Engineer through our PECD program to build critical construction skills on site and in the field.

You will travel up to 70% of the year across the Upper Midwest, supporting scheduling, estimating, budgeting, safety, and quality control while developing toward leadership roles.

This role offers hands-on development, internal mobility, and a path to project management or construction management opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • GPA 2.8 or higher.
  • Ability to travel 70% of the year.
  • One relevant internship experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional documentation and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for solving problems.
  • Reliable transportation from the office to job-sites.

The goal of our PECD program is to develop our people into company leaders. In order to accomplish that, the PECD program has been structured with a competency based approach along with an emphasis on individual mentorship. Our Project Engineers will build experience across multiple competencies before being promoted into the career path they desire – project management, estimating, construction management and more.

About The Team

Our STRUCTURAL Chicago team is located in Schiller Park, IL - however, they are a heavily travel oriented group.

You can anticipate upwards of 70% travel across the Upper Midwest on project assignments over the course of the year.

Chicago's primary work scopes focus on Industrial customers - refineries, powerplants and similar facilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Preference for Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher
  • Ability to travel 70% of the year
  • A minimum of one relevant internship experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional documentation and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for solving problems
  • Reliable transportation from the office to job-sites
