Job summary

STRUCTURAL Chicago seeks a Project Engineer as part of its Project Engineer Career Development (PECD) program. You will gain hands-on in-field learning across scheduling, estimating, budgeting, safety, quality control, and client relations while rotating through multiple competencies before pursuing leadership roles.

Our Project Engineer Career Development (PECD) program is a cornerstone of our growth and development philosophy. With an emphasis on in-field learning and development, our Project Engineers can expect to master critical construction skills, including:

  • Quality control
  • Business development and client relations

The goal of our PECD program is to develop our people into company leaders. In order to accomplish that, the PECD program has been structured with a competency based approach along with an emphasis on individual mentorship. Our Project Engineers will build experience across multiple competencies before being promoted into the career path they desire – project management, estimating, construction management and more.

About the Team:

Our STRUCTURAL Chicago team is located in Schiller Park, IL - however, they are a heavily travel oriented group. You can anticipate upwards of 70% travel across the Upper Midwest on project assignments over the course of the year.

Chicago’s primary work scopes focus on Industrial customers - refineries, powerplants and similar facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preference for Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher
  • Ability to travel 70% of the year
  • A minimum of one relevant internship experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional documentation and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for solving problems
  • Reliable transportation from the office to job-sites
