Job summary

Mullins Mechanical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to oversee industrial mechanical projects, including millwright/rigging, piping, and structural steel. The role will involve developing budgets, schedules, and subcontractor management, with emphasis on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a related BS/BA degree and/or PMP/CCM certification, OSHA 30, and strong leadership and communication skills to support multiple projects at once across diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management or a related bachelor’s degree.
• PMP, CCM or equivalent certification is a plus.
• OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR training.
• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to budget, schedule, and control costs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, managing, and storing all project documentation.
• Participate in project hand-off meetings to gather critical information before construction.
• Assist the PM in preparing the construction budget.
• Assist in developing and managing the construction schedule.
• Develop and write subcontracts and purchase orders as requested.
• Contractually and collaboratively manage subcontractors and their performance.
• Collect and distribute materials and equipment submittals as required.
• Create and distribute RFIs for clarification of project specifics.
• Work with PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies by analyzing data.
• Collaboratively help price, negotiate, and formalize changes in project scope.
• Work with Superintendents on requests for resources, materials, equipment, etc.
• Manage safety, quality, and productivity of the project.
• Ensure jobsite remains clean and orderly.
