Job summary

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking a Technical Specialist to provide expert coating technology guidance to Engineering and Sales teams in Florida. You will review specifications, support estimating and proposals, and translate field conditions into accurate scopes of work for power generation and heavy industrial assets.

The role requires strong knowledge of coating systems, surface prep, corrosion protection, inspection practices, and industry standards such as AMPP.

Qualifications

Knowledge of coatings technologies, surface preparation, corrosion protection, inspection practices, and industry standards.
Ability to write coating specifications and translate customer requirements into practical scopes.
Experience supporting bids, estimates, and technical clarifications for power generation or heavy industrial projects.

Responsibilities

Review coating specifications and surface preparation requirements to meet customer needs.
Support Sales and Operations with site evaluations, estimating, and bid strategy.
Apply AMPP and customer standards to evaluations, specs, and inspections.
Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and field reviews to clarify technical requirements.
Define inspection and quality criteria, environmental controls, and coating repair procedures.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Safety, and Project teams to deliver executable scopes.
