Placements24 is seeking a Specialist Cleaning & Sanitation Coordinator for an automotive manufacturing plant in East London, Eastern Cape. You will oversee daily cleaning operations, supervise staff, and ensure strict sanitation standards across the plant to support product quality and a safe working environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to solving sanitation challenges within an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a cleaning or sanitation supervision role in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices for industrial hygiene.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing facilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage daily cleaning and sanitation schedules for all areas of the manufacturing plant.
• Supervise and train a team of cleaning staff, ensuring procedures and safety guidelines are followed.
• Oversee the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure hygiene and sanitation standards are met.
• Identify and address cleaning-related issues or deficiencies promptly.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, inventory, and staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance to minimize disruption.
• Recommend improvements to cleaning processes, equipment, and supplies.
• Promote a culture of cleanliness and safety among plant employees.
