Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness of equipment, facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include heavy cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing facilities for events within a production laundry environment.

The role requires the ability to operate a powered industrial truck in some locations, and candidates should be able to work independently or as part of a team while following safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures or willingness to learn.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team.
• Work independently, comprehend and follow written or verbal direction.
• In some locations, be able and certified to safely operate a powered industrial truck.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning of equipment using compressed air and other methods.
• Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop.
• Dispose of trash, clean spills, replace air fresheners, change bulbs, and prepare facilities for events.
• Clean offices, bathrooms, break rooms and other areas.
• Move furniture and equipment between departments and storage areas.
• Operate a powered industrial truck to move, transfer, load and unload.
• Maintain records of maintenance and monitor cleaning supplies, restock where needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
• Keep work areas neat and clean.
• Perform other tasks as required.
