Job summary

SkyWater Technology, Inc. in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Plant Engineering Chemical Systems Technician who will lead preventative maintenance, manage chemical systems, and drive uptime for critical process equipment in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

The role requires 5+ years in chemical operations or manufacturing, an associate degree, strong mechanical skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical/associate degree or equivalent training in a technical discipline.
• 5 years’ experience in chemical operations or manufacturing; 8–10 years preferred.
• Mechanical inclination with ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex process equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• US Citizenship or ability to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/Plan/Perform equipment preventative maintenance and improvements.
• Manage contractors and document maintenance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and SOP development training.
• Support root cause investigations and implement lasting solutions.
• Operate system equipment via HMI for batch creation and distribution.
• Monitor HVAC and critical site equipment (boilers, chillers) for clean room operations.
• Maintain chemical inventory and ensure FIFO compliance.
• Record keeping and reporting as required.
