Job summary

Winkle Industries in Alliance, OH is seeking an Industrial Brake Assembler to join the Brake Department. This hands-on role involves assembling brake parts, following work instructions, and using hand tools to build and test units.

No prior brake-specific experience required; strong mechanical skills and willingness to learn are valued. You will read drawings, use calipers and tape measures, and operate equipment safely in a manufacturing environment.

• Good mechanical skills and enjoy working with hands.
• Able to use hand tools.
• Able to read a tape measure and use calipers.
• Able to follow written instructions and mechanical drawings.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Able to stand around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
• Can lift up to 30 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Able to stand, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the day.
• Comfortable in a manufacturing environment with grease, oil, solvents, noise, and debris.

Responsibilities

• Assemble industrial brake parts and complete brake units.
• Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics.
• Take apart used brake assemblies for inspection and repair.
• Clean parts using a parts washer and other cleaning equipment.
• Inspect parts for wear or damage.
• Use a tape measure and calipers to check measurements.
• Repair or replace worn or damaged parts.
• Test completed brake assemblies to ensure proper operation.
• Use an overhead crane to move larger brake components; training provided if needed.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow Winkle safety rules and wear required PPE.
