Job summary

Winkle Industries, Inc. in Alliance, Ohio, seeks a full-time brake assembly technician to join a hands-on shop team. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, reading drawings, and precision measurement, with the ability to work safely around heavy components and solvents.

You will be cross-trained for brake relining, inspect parts, perform tests, and maintain accurate records of parts, labor, and services while upholding quality and safety standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Vocational, technical, or trade school training in mechanical, automotive, or industrial maintenance fields is preferred, but not required.
• Current students or recent graduates of trade/technical programs are encouraged to apply.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings and manuals are essential.
• Ability to read a tape measure and calipers accurately.
• Experience with overhead cranes or powered material handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble brake components according to specifications and drawings.
• Disassemble, clean, and inspect used brake components.
• Take precision measurements to verify fit and tolerance.
• Align and assemble parts into brake units and perform functional tests.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues; repair or replace worn parts as needed.
• Maintain records of parts, labor hours, and services performed.
