Job summary

Neil Jones Food Company, Hollister, CA, seeks a Boiler Room Operator to control and monitor boiler operations to provide steam for industrial food processing equipment at our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA.

The role requires maintaining boiler water chemistry, performing tests, and adjusting chemical feeds to ensure safe, efficient operation. Must be able to work extended hours and shifts during peak season.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating automatic boiler systems in an industrial food processing environment.
• Welding with STICK/TIG/MIG and pipe fitting (all sizes) required.
• Knowledge in gas handling, air compressors, water treatment, and cooling tower maintenance.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and work extended hours, weekends, and shifts during peak season.

Responsibilities

• Startup, operation and shutdown of boiler-related utilities (soft water, condensate recovery, compressed air, electrical systems, natural gas).
• Maintenance and monitoring of boiler systems, water chemistry, pressures, temperatures, gas flow, and records.
• Operates and monitors boiler system continuously.
• Performs welding, cutting, hydraulics, and pneumatics tasks as needed.
• Ensures preventative maintenance is performed timely and documented.
