Job summary

AbbVie's Manufacturing Engineering team seeks an Engineer Technician I to support industrial automation and controls. The role focuses on troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems to maximize production uptime and efficiency.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, supporting startups, and collaborating with a cross-functional team to implement process improvements. A strong technical background and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

High School or GED required; tech certification preferred.
5+ years of technical experience in area.
Experience with PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens).
Knowledge of vision systems (Cognex or Keyence) and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Provide technical service with daily monitoring and troubleshooting of systems.
Support automation and control systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors and vision systems.
Document findings, update SOPs and assist in project start-up and commissioning.
Identify issues and implement troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with project teams to recommend design and process improvements.
Assist in design, installation, and validation of equipment and systems.
