Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Automation Technician to keep advanced automated systems running safely and efficiently in a busy facility. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, improving processes, and working with cutting-edge automation and controls technology alongside maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.

You will support, maintain, and improve automation across the plant, including PLCs, robotics, sensors, vision systems, and industrial networks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience supporting automated or industrial equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical and control systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial or distribution environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing and material handling equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation, electrical, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and HMI panels and VFDs in production environments.
• Support robotic systems including setup and recovery.
• Read electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and system modifications.
• Maintain safety standards when working with high-voltage and automated systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve reliability and uptime.
• Document repairs, system changes, and preventive maintenance in the CMMS.
