Job description

We're seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven engineer to support and improve our automation systems. This role will focus on programming industrial robots and PLCs, assisting maintenance staff with troubleshooting, and driving projects that increase efficiency and reliability across our automation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program and optimize industrial robots and PLCs to support production needs.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related equipment issues alongside maintenance staff.
  3. Lead and support continuous improvement projects to increase automation efficiency and uptime.
  4. Design or modify mechanical and control systems for new or existing equipment.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to implement automation upgrades and maintenance programs.
  6. Support installation and commissioning of new automated systems.
  7. Create and maintain documentation for equipment, programs, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or mechanical engineering (plastic injection molding experience a plus).
  3. Experience with industrial robot programming (e.g., Fanuc, or similar) and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  4. Comfortable working on the floor in a fast-paced production environment.
  5. Experience with sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, relays, servos and drives.
  6. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing automation systems.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Familiarity with preventive maintenance and reliability engineering practices.
  2. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  3. Experience working in injection molding facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
