Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for a leading manufacturing organization in Virginia Beach. The role focuses on driving PLC/SCADA projects across production lines, with emphasis on design, debugging, and continuous improvement of automation equipment.

You will program and configure PLCs and HMI systems, develop dashboards, and apply pneumatic and software controls to workstations and automation machines. Vision-based quality systems are also part of the scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering with PLC experience, or related field.
• Experience with PLC & HMI programming, preferably Siemens PLCs.
• Proficiency in developing dashboards using SCADA software.
• Knowledge of pneumatic design and deployment.
• Experience programming FANUC robots is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple SCADA and PLC integration projects within defined timelines with limited supervision.
• Support production departments through design, debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and methods.
• Program, configure, and develop sequences of operation for PLCs on new and existing production machinery.
• Design electrical, pneumatic, hardware, and software controls for workstations, auto stations, and automation machines.
• Analyze and implement vision-based monitoring systems to enhance production quality and efficiency.
