Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Virginia is looking for a Controls Engineer to manage automation projects and design control systems across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in control systems and PLC programming. Responsibilities include system design, leading projects worth up to $250K, and training customers. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to travel up to 50%. Qualifications

• Three to five years' experience in control systems and PLC systems.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls design.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control systems to meet process requirements.
• Develop schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD.
• Lead design reviews with customers for approval of designs.
• Perform system checkout and start-up of the integrated control system.
• Develop final documentation and provide customer training.
• Act as technical lead and guide lower-level engineers.
• Manage smaller projects with budgets from $50K to $250K.
