Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a controls engineer for its manufacturing teams. You will develop and implement improvements to control systems, lead problem solving for equipment performance, and coordinate resources to find root causes.

You’ll train plant personnel and integrate controls with IT systems, including FIS and related platforms. The role requires substantial PLC programming experience, hands-on electrical knowledge, and the ability to work off-shift or in 4-crew schedules as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLC logic and programming across major PLC brands.
• Direct experience with assembly and machining controls architectures.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic prints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement improvements to control systems using data.
• Lead problem solving for equipment performance issues.
• Lead troubleshooting; coordinate resources to identify root causes.
• Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians.
• Integrate controls into IT systems and review project installations.
• Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and maintain backups.
