Job summary

HITACHI GLOBAL AIR POWER US, LLC in Michigan City, Indiana is hiring an Assembler to build compressors, install tubing, wire harnesses, and test assemblies. You will follow Work Center Instructions, P&I diagrams, and BOMs, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires basic reading of instructions, manual dexterity, and ability to learn new processes. On-the-job training is provided; some lifting and standing are involved.

Qualifications

• Education: High School education or equivalent required.
• On-the-job training provided; ability to learn and follow standardized work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to read basic work instructions, labels and visual aids; perform repetitive assembly tasks with quality and productivity.
• Basic computer skills required; working with various hand and pneumatic tools and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble compressors in assigned area using Work Center Instructions (WCI), P&I, Wiring Diagram and BOM.
• Install tubing, insulation and heat trace tape as required; assemble frames, tanks and components per BOM/WCI.
• Wire machines, connect motor leads and connectors; terminate wiring in WD & P&I.
• Test electrical controls/components per WCI/WD/P&I; inspect finished machines at end of process.
