Job summary

Hitachi Global Air Power US, LLC in Michigan City, Indiana, seeks an assembler to join the production team. You will assemble compressors in the assigned area using WCI, P&I, WD and BOM, install tubing and wiring, and inspect units for quality.

Role requires at least 2 years of manufacturing assembly experience, basic reading skills, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. You will work with hand and pneumatic tools and maintain a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent and a minimum of two years post high school training/experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ previous manufacturing assembly required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic reading skills necessary to perform the functions of the job.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and wiring diagrams/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble compressors in assigned area using Work Center Instructions (WCI), Piping & Instrumentation instructions (P&I), Wiring Diagram (WD) and Bill of Material (BOM) and assembly drawings.
• Apply decals to machines, as needed.
• Utilize Andon signals per guidelines.
• Measure, cut, bend, fit small tubing to machine; install tubing and fittings.
• Install foam insulation on tubing and controls; install heat trace tape to tubing and controls or bend large tubing with power bender per print.
• Assemble frames, separator tanks, components; connect motor leads and power sources.
• Wire machines or packages, terminating wire harnesses or basic wiring per WD.
• Test electrical controls/components per WCI, WD and P&I.
• Inspect finished machines at end of process and receive into finished goods.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and stock materials.
