Transamerica is seeking an experienced tax accounting leader to oversee indirect tax compliance and related accounting. You will manage staff, apply tax knowledge to complex activities, and work across departments to ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include extracting data from tax systems, reviewing state and federal taxes, drafting memos, and leading projects to integrate new tax laws. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Eight years of tax accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of assigned tax specialty.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Extract financial data from tax, accounting, and information systems to perform analyses.
• Review indirect tax returns and related tax accounting, including state, federal, and other taxes.
• Draft and/or review technical memos and outlines.
• Develop non-standard reports and statements.
• Lead projects integrating new tax laws and accounting principles; monitor tax law changes.
• Provide leadership and direction to others.
• Assist in evaluating processes for operational efficiencies and risk management.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve business issues.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Mentor staff to develop capabilities.
