TransUnion is seeking a Director, Global Indirect Tax to lead the company’s indirect tax strategy, governance, compliance, and technology initiatives across a global footprint. You will partner with Tax, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Procurement to enable growth while minimizing risk.

The role requires deep expertise in VAT, GST, sales tax, and digital tax regimes, with a track record of leading cross‑functional teams and managing external advisors in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in global indirect taxation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience leading multinational VAT, GST, sales and use tax, and digital services tax programs.
• Demonstrated governance, compliance, and risk-management capabilities.
• Experience managing audits/controversies and working with senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead global indirect tax strategy, governance, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and operate a global indirect tax model balancing compliance, automation, and business enablement.
• Establish global tax policies, internal controls, and standards across regions.
• Provide guidance on taxability of products, services, data solutions, and new initiatives.
• Oversee co-sourced providers and external advisors for timely indirect tax filings.
• Direct audit defense, controversy management, and risk mitigation activities.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on operations.
• Drive indirect tax technology transformation and automation initiatives.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and legal entity restructuring with tax insights.
• Lead and mentor indirect tax professionals and foster a high-performance culture.
