Scion Staffing, Inc. is conducting a search for a Buyer I, Indirect Procurement in Buena Park, CA. This onsite role supports day-to-day operations by managing indirect categories across multiple departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in indirect procurement, including MRO, IT, facilities, or other non-production categories.
• Experience creating purchase orders and working with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and issue resolution.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP purchasing functions, purchase requisitions, approval workflows, and receiving processes.
• Proficiency in Excel to organize, compare, and track quotes, pricing, orders, and purchasing information.

Responsibilities

• Purchase indirect goods and services including MRO supplies, facilities and equipment services, IT hardware and software, tooling, shop supplies, consumables, and general business purchases.
• Partner with internal departments to clarify purchase requests, specifications, quantities, budgets, approvals, and timing before initiating purchasing activity.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations, evaluating pricing, lead times, terms, and supplier capabilities while making purchasing decisions within established company guidelines.
• Create, maintain, and close purchase orders in the ERP system; monitor open orders, expedite deliveries when needed, and keep internal stakeholders informed of order status.
• Coordinate supplier setup and onboarding, manage recurring purchases and renewals, and maintain required purchasing documentation in partnership with Finance and internal departments.
• Help identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, improve purchasing efficiency, manage costs, and resolve invoice discrepancies, receiving issues, returns, and other procurement-related challenges.
