Job summary

CyberX Info System is looking for a detail-oriented Indirect Buyer to join the Supply Chain team in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will manage the procurement of indirect materials and oversee the purchasing process while ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a degree related to Supply Chain or Business Administration and 3–5+ years of experience in indirect procurement within regulated industries. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Indirect Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of indirect materials, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies, services, and general operating requirements to support manufacturing and business operations. This role will oversee the purchasing process from requisition through delivery while ensuring supplier performance, cost effectiveness, compliance, and timely fulfillment of internal customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procurement procedures.
  • Source and procure indirect materials, MRO supplies, services, and operational consumables.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery issues, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Process invoices and perform purchase order matching to support accurate and timely payments.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice, pricing, and receipt discrepancies.
  • Manage supplier onboarding activities and maintain vendor records and compliance documentation.
  • Support contract administration and ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost savings within procurement operations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting within ERP systems.
  • Participate in supply chain and procurement projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, purchasing, or MRO buying within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial Manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and purchase order administration.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification.
  • Experience with supplier onboarding and contract management.
  • Knowledge of procurement‑to‑pay (P2P) processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
