Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) specializing in Business, Marketing or a relevant field of study.
• Minimum two years or more directly related experience in student recruitment, admissions, academic advising or related student services department, and/or marketing, communications or related communications services department; an equivalent combination of experience and education may be taken into consideration.
• This position requires a person of Indigenous ancestry who also meets all other required qualifications.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nations and Indigenous Peoples within the CNC region, including cultural knowledge, community strengths, and the unique challenges and opportunities experienced by Indigenous learners in a post‑secondary environment.
• Experience supporting Indigenous learners in a post‑secondary setting is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with secondary and post‑secondary education environments, including the student journey from recruitment through to graduation, is considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, promotional, and public speaking skills, with the ability to build relationships, engage diverse audiences, and deliver effective recruitment presentations to prospective students and influencers through in-person and virtual formats.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver clear, professional messaging and correspondence.
• Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness in developing solutions and adapting to changing priorities.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to exercise tact, discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgement when working with students, families, partners, and colleagues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Working knowledge and experience with a Student Information System and Client Relationship Management system is considered an asset.
• A valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence and successful completion of a Criminal Record Check are required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development of an annual recruitment plan designed to accomplish the goals established in the College Strategic Plan, SEM Plan, and the goals established in the Indigenous Education Plan.
• Leads the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of recruitment initiatives as assigned.
• Supports future students throughout the enrolment journey by providing guidance on academic pathways, programs, and student services. Builds relationships with students, families, and community partners while coordinating with internal departments to ensure students receive the information and support needed to transition successfully to CNC .
• Proactively monitor applicants throughout the admission process—from application to qualification—using targeted strategies to support their conversion into an accepted and registered student.
• Enhances the visibility of the College by promoting the College’s academic programs and services through a variety of platforms including, but not limited to face‑to‑face appointments, secondary and elementary school visits, presentations, campus tours, college and community events, as well as First Nations’ and Indigenous community visits.
• Be aware of, and work collaboratively with Future Student Advisors, marketing and events staff, student affairs staff, and academic team members to meet institutional enrolment targets and objectives.
• Maintain a strong and significant working relationship with the Aboriginal Resource Centres and Indigenous Advisors and Community Liaisons on all five campuses at the College.
• Provide front‑line service coverage during the Administrative Assistant’s absence, as required.
• Develops and maintains relationships with various partners including parents and family members of prospective students, secondary school counsellors, teachers and staff, as well as valued community and industry partners.
• Respond to inquiries from prospective students in‑person, by email, over the phone, and in a virtual environment.
• Promotes CNC as a college of choice through various trade fair opportunities where travel is required.
• Through self‑directed learning and/or professional development, remains current with all policies, procedures and processes with respect to student recruitment, application process and admissions.
• Generates and maintains reports and tracks admission and registration activity to measure recruitment outcomes.
• Create and maintain contact lists with secondary school counsellors and teachers, and First Nations Bands.
• Assists in the production of marketing and promotions materials directly related to student recruitment events.
• Participates in Strategic Enrolment Management committee work as assigned.
• Assists in the execution of college student events directly related to the student journey.
• Participates in the Campus Ambassador program including training and mentorship.
• Monitors changes to competitors’ programs and promotional materials to ensure competitiveness of college programs.
