Job summary

Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) seeks a Resilience Coordinator to advance community resilience through environmental adaptation and culturally grounded initiatives in the Kodiak region. You will coordinate programs, partnerships, and workshops with Tribal partners and Traditional Knowledge Holders, and align efforts with funders to support climate adaptation and emergency planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Indigenous Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of working experience; equivalent combination acceptable.
  • Experience coordinating partnerships and grant-funded programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops collaborations with KANA programs to meet goals and beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops and training events for resilience planning.
  • Develop, refine RFP templates and procedures for Traditional Knowledge Holders and partners.
  • Support evaluation and awarding of grants for culturally grounded activities in Kodiak.
  • Collaborate with Environmental team to identify topics and cross-team support.
  • Build partnerships with agencies, tribes, and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Identify funding opportunities to enhance KANA beneficiaries’ programs.
  • Attend meetings with ANTHC and partners to share lessons learned.
  • Document scope, resources, and outcomes to meet funder requirements.
  • Provide geospatial data review for preparedness planning; travel to villages as needed.
