Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced CEI Manager for the Midwest Region in Indiana. The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 5+ years of construction inspection experience.

You will supervise field operations, lead a team, and coordinate with owners, design professionals, and contractors. Responsibilities include reviewing docs, tracking schedules, ensuring QC, and closeout.

Qualifications

5+ years of construction inspection experience or 8-10+ years with equivalent education.
Experience managing INDOT and/or federal-aid LPA projects.
INDOT Certified Technician qualifications or ability to obtain within 12 months.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Manage daily field operations on projects per INDOT specs and contract documents.
Lead and mentor a team of inspectors and technicians across concurrent activities.
Serve as liaison between contractor, owner, designers, utilities, and stakeholders.
Review drawings, submittals, and contracts; track schedules.
Oversee materials testing per INDOT requirements and QC procedures.
Maintain records of quantities, daily reports, and pay estimates.
Prepare final construction record for closeout and audit.
Monitor safety, MOT, environmental commitments, and erosion control.
