Job summary

UrbanLogic in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef specializing in Indian cuisine to craft desserts that complement our authentic Indian menu. You will lead pastry operations, design new recipes, oversee inventory, train staff, and ensure top quality and food safety in a fast-paced kitchen.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and a culinary diploma are preferred; US work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

Create and prepare a variety of desserts and pastries inspired by traditional Indian flavors.
Develop new dessert recipes that showcase creativity and innovation while staying true to the essence of Indian cuisine.
Oversee the daily pastry operations including ordering ingredients maintaining inventory and ensuring high quality standards are met.
Train and supervise pastry staff to ensure consistency in taste presentation and portion sizes.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth flow of food production and timely delivery of desserts to guests.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Continuously stay updated on industry trends techniques and ingredients related to pastry making.
