Job summary

MPOWERHealth in Dallas, TX seeks experienced Surgical First Assist professionals (LSA/PA/NP/RNFA) for 1099 contractor roles across multiple surgical specialties. This OR-only position focuses on first-assist duties with flexible case selection and no clinic commitments.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of surgical assisting, credentialed PA or NP with NCCPA or CNOR/RNFA, and strong MS Office/EMR skills. Orthopedics experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of surgical assisting experience.
• Experience assisting in spine, ortho, GYN, General and robotics.
• Orthopedics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide first assist support during surgical procedures.
• Pre-operative coordination: confirm cases, meet patients, explain procedures, obtain documentation, and coordinate with OR staff.
• Intraoperative support: assist with patient positioning, maintain sterile field, anticipate surgeon needs, and collaborate with the OR team.
• Post-operative care: assist with patient transfer, PACU handover, and documentation.
• Continuous improvement: participate in clinical and operational projects, such as education, training, and process improvement.
• Skill expansion: willingness to learn new surgical specialties and expand skill set.
