PNC invites strong graduates to join the Independent Risk Management (IRM) Development Program in Pittsburgh, a 12-month in-office rotation designed to grow skills in risk analysis, policy development and stakeholder communications.

Associates will rotate through risk areas such as enterprise, credit, regulatory, and technology risk while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from professionals in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Preferred majors include Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, IT, Finance or related fields.
  • Minimum GPA 3.2 and recent university/college graduate status.
  • Roles are designed for candidates with relevant skills and little/no professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform core activities and data-driven tasks under supervision to drive business results.
  • Participate in social learning, mentoring, and job shadowing within the program.
  • Engage in formal training and complete related projects in Risk disciplines.

Job Description

By joining PNC’s Independent Risk Management (IRM) Development Program, you are joining a part of a highly competitive 12-month program that will allow you to explore your potential through hands-on experience in a professional environment. This is an excellent opportunity to begin exploring your career goals, in addition to growing your skills in key areas. The goal of PNC’s IRM Development Program is to develop associates to be able to assess and identify risks that could impede the strategy, reputation, operations, or financial success of the organization.

During this 12-month rotational program, associates work with risk management professionals to maintain PNC’s emphasis on effective risk management while adhering to the enterprise risk appetite. Associates will engage in a collaborative environment, gaining hands-on experience with the key components of PNC’s risk framework. Your involvement will include activities such as data analysis and metrics, policy and procedures development, research, communications, reporting, and participation in meetings with key regulatory stakeholders.

The program contains four rotations including an Enterprise Risk or an Operational Risk rotation, as well as having an opportunity to rotate through any of the areas below. This will provide exposure to different areas within IRM and across PNC.

Required Education And Experience
  • Preferred business relevant majors (e.g., Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Business Law, Information Technology, Operational Management, Statistics, Finance, Accounting),
  • Minimum GPA 3.2.

As an associate in the IRM development program:

  • Performs or assists with the core activities of the group by applying knowledge learned to drive business results (e.g., process support, internal or external customer interaction, or supporting internal projects). Works under supervision and may have limited approval and/or exception authority.
  • Participates in social learning within the organization (e.g., identifies and networks with business representatives and peers, participates in mentoring, job shadowing and community outreach projects).
  • Participates in formal learning (e.g., classroom, web-based or virtual) and completes related activities and projects.
  • Supports the internal and external customer experience by always providing excellent service; takes accountability and ensures problem resolution.
