Job summary

A community-focused organization is seeking an Independent Contractor as a Recreational Therapist to provide individualized therapeutic services. This role involves planning activities and supporting individuals with disabilities to develop skills through recreation. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation and relevant certifications. Responsibilities include one-on-one therapy, client assessments, and documentation. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and requires a commitment to client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation to and from clients' locations.
• Clean background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one recreational therapy with individuals.
• Assess each client's needs using standardized assessments.
• Document therapy notes and service records as required.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and with a team

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Familiarity working with an electronic health/medical record system

Experience as a Recreational Therapist

Education

Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential

CPR & First Aid Certificate
