Job summary

The Arc of Howard County Inc in Ellicott City, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently in their communities.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered support, assist with daily living skills and medication administration, and document progress and safety in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to pass background checks and maintain required trainings (First Aid, CPR, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support to promote independence and community integration.
• Assist with daily living skills including personal care, household management, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in developing relationships, recreation, and community connections.
• Implement person-centered planning to help individuals achieve goals and preferences.
• Facilitate access to community resources and services based on interests and needs.
• Document daily activities, progress notes, and incidents according to regulations.
