Job summary

Future Transitions in Antelope Valley seeks an in-home and community tutor for individuals with Developmental Disabilities. You will teach daily living skills, follow an Individual Service Plan, and work with clients in homes, schools, and community settings.

Requirements include a car, driver’s license, auto insurance, background checks, and DMV reports for transportation in Kern County. The role is part-time to full-time, with CPR/First Aid certification preferred or to be obtained within 30

Qualifications

Experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities.
Ability to communicate with Consumers and Supervisors, and problem solve.
Current CPR/First Aid certification for adults and children, or to be completed within 30 days of hire.
Must be 18+ years old and able to pass background checks.
Driver's license, auto insurance, and a valid car are required for transporting in Kern County.

Responsibilities

Train or teach children and/or adults with Developmental Disabilities to accomplish daily living skills in the home and in the community.
Follow Individual Service Plan and work basic-level cases, providing training in areas such as toilet training, hygiene, grooming, travel training and social skills.
Locate community resources, complete all hours assigned, maintain records and submit reports; identify and report possible abuse/neglect.
Work in client homes, visits to schools, social settings, grocery stores, malls, SSI, DMV, banks, etc.
