Project Genesis, Inc. is seeking an Independent Living Skills Trainer to empower adults living with acquired brain injuries in Hebron, CT. You will coach daily living skills, budgeting, communication, and community engagement to promote independence.

The role emphasizes one-on-one support, documentation, collaboration with the care team, and meaningful, goal-driven outcomes. Eligible candidates may have a related degree or years of hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
• Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries: Minimum of 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, or Minimum of 1 year with a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Teaching daily living skills such as meal planning, cooking, household organization, and personal routines.
• Assisting with budgeting, money management, and community resources.
• Supporting communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
• Encouraging participation in community activities and social engagement.
• Providing supervision and non‑medical support based on individualized service plans.
• Documenting progress and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Celebrating every milestone as individuals achieve greater confidence and independence.
