Job summary
Able South Carolina is seeking an Independent Living Specialist to empower peers with disabilities, promote self-determination, and expand community inclusion across South Carolina. You’ll work with peers to develop IL plans, provide peer support, and connect individuals to resources that enhance independence.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, or equivalent lived disability experience.
- Experience in advocacy, peer mentoring, or community engagement is preferred.
- Knowledge of disability benefits, resources, and accessibility, or enthusiasm to learn.
Responsibilities
- Champion Disability Pride and Independent Living Movement to empower peers.
- Build confidence, self-determination, and personal leadership for individuals with disabilities.
- Create a welcoming, disability-proud peer community and connect people to resources.
- Advocate for rights, accommodations, and community inclusion for peers.
