Job summary

Disability Rights South Carolina is seeking a Community Integration Advocate to advance the rights of people with disabilities to live, work, and participate in their communities. You'll work under the supervision of the Advocacy Coordinator for Community Integration and collaborate with DRSC attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly protect and advocate for individuals with disabilities in education, employment, and community access.
• Advise the Advocacy Coordinator and legal staff on policy issues and case questions.
• Maintain accurate client records and complete required reports.
• Submit internal DRSC forms and records timely.
• Assist in developing action plans for systemic work.
• Stay informed on disability law, regulations, and state agency policies.
• Engage with volunteer and consumer groups to raise DRSC service awareness.
• Assist in staff and stakeholder training and provide technical assistance.
