Job summary

Disability Connections in Middle Georgia is seeking an Independent Living Coordinator to empower people with disabilities to live independently and access resources. You will educate consumers, deliver Pathways to Partnerships Pre-ETS instruction, and build relationships with LEAs, VR counselors and youth networks.

This role emphasizes accessibility, IDEA compliance, collaboration with teammates on information and referral, peer support, advocacy, and community events.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; experience with people with disabilities is favored.
• Willingness to learn and engage with the community.
• Excellent written and verbal communication is essential.
• Strong documentation practices and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Communicate, inform, and educate consumers with disabilities to access resources.
• Deliver Pathways to Partnerships Pre-ETS instruction to students with disabilities.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with LEAs, VR Counselors, and youth networks.
• Schedule and facilitate regular meetings with Educator Liaisons.
• Ensure adherence to IDEA and promote independent living philosophy.
