Job summary

The Agency in Uvalde, TX is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join its lending team. This role focuses on underwriting and credit analysis for a variety of commercial loan types, with independence from automated spreads.

You will analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow, prepare loan presentations, and ensure credit decisions align with bank policies. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of credit analysis or commercial banking experience.
• Experience underwriting CRE, C&I, agricultural, and other loans.
• Strong financial statement and cash flow analysis skills.
• Ability to assess credit risk and repayment capacity independently.
• Solid knowledge of commercial lending principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field preferred.
• Community banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive credit spreads and financial analysis independently without software assistance.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and other borrower information to assess creditworthiness.
• Underwrite CRE, C&I, agricultural, and other commercial loan requests.
• Prepare detailed credit analyses, loan presentations, and underwriting recommendations.
• Evaluate borrower repayment capacity, collateral, guarantor strength, and overall credit risk.
• Review existing credits and monitor portfolio performance for changes in risk.
• Work closely with commercial lenders and lending team to structure credit opportunities.
• Ensure underwriting and credit decisions are consistent with bank policies and lending standards.
• Maintain accurate and thorough credit documentation.
• Provide ongoing support to the lending team through the credit approval and monitoring process.
