Job summary
GMRE is seeking a Chief Engineer to serve as the independent technical authority across current and future programs, ensuring airworthiness, safety, and engineering rigor. The role interacts with the Director of Engineering and GMRE leadership to provide objective assessments and risk-based decisions.
Responsibilities include leading independent reviews, evaluating evidence, mentoring senior engineers, and advising on technical risks and program priorities to support strategic growth in the DoD
Qualifications
- Requires extensive knowledge of complex system design and verification processes.
- Strong systems engineering knowledge across requirements, architecture, interfaces, baselines, and lifecycle considerations.
- Experience with DoD aviation safety, airworthiness, and qualification processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to GMRE leadership and customers.
- Provide independent technical oversight across program portfolios and assess technical health and rigor.
- Chair independent technical reviews and evaluate evidence for major conclusions and milestones.
- Mentor Lead Systems Engineers and senior technical leaders.
- Advise leadership on risks, capability gaps, and investment priorities.
