Job summary

Sewickley Valley YMCA is seeking a Diverse Abilities Swim Instructor to provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for swimming students with diverse abilities.

You will teach according to YMCA standards, maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment, and help swimmers gain confidence, safety, and skills in the water. This position requires working with children with special needs and offers a $15/hour starting wage with a free YMCA membership while employed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with diverse abilities.
• Ability to demonstrate swim instruction skills, including four strokes in good form.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent preferred.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid certifications are a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
