Job summary

IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Special Education Aide to support students with disabilities in a functional environment (LIFE). The role assists in implementing classroom programs, personal care needs, and behavior management under a certified teacher's direction.

The ideal candidate has an Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate or equivalent, plus a high school diploma or GED. Candidate should be prepared to work with students across campus in a nonexempt, 187-day work

Qualifications

Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate required.
High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
Experience supporting students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Keep accurate records and provide to appropriate personnel promptly.
Supervise students inside and outside the classroom (lunchroom, bus duty, playground).
Assist teachers with transferring or positioning students as needed.
Support students with personal care tasks (feeding, bathroom needs, hygiene).
Assist in behavior management and crisis intervention when required.
Adapt materials for individual students under teacher direction.
Report any special needs or problems to the teacher promptly.
Uphold school rules and participate in staff activities as assigned.
