Pierce County Parks and Recreation offers a part-time role within Specialized Recreation for individuals 8 and up with disabilities. The program supports a 69 hours/month schedule, mostly in-office, with weekday and evening/weekend hours. The role requires helping plan and lead activities, ensuring safety and inclusivity, and assisting participants and families as needed.

Applicant must pass a background check. Work site varies by activity, with some evenings and holidays possible.

Formación

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in recreational or work settings.
Experience with people of all ages with varying needs.
Ability to problem solve, interact with the public tactfully, and stay organized while flexible.
Ability to exercise mature judgment to ensure safety and enjoyment, lead group activities, and follow directions.
Background check will be required.

Responsabilidades

Assist Coordinator & staff with planning, preparing, implementing, and leading programs and activities.
Participate in staff meetings/trainings.
Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive environment throughout each activity.
Assist participants with daily tasks onsite and within the community.
Direct family questions and comments to appropriate avenue.
Perform other duties as assigned by the coordinator.
