Job summary

Western Washington University in Bellingham is seeking a Unit Manager for The Centers for Student Access, Community, and Intercultural Engagement to support inclusive programs. The role is based primarily at the Multicultural Center within the Viking Union and supervises student staff while coordinating with MSS, LGBTQ+ Western, and the Disability Access Center.

You will design and deliver programming that furthers equity and inclusion, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in programs related to access, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Experience advising students and/or young adult leaders in programs/clubs/organizations to support leadership development, including LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC students.
• Experience designing and delivering programming and training that advances positive identity development and leadership for students with multiple marginalized identities.
• Demonstrated ability to engage students of diverse identities in intercultural learning and dialogue.
• Experience supervising student employees.
• Strong facilitation and written communication skills.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for The Centers, MSS, LGBTQ+ Western, and the Disability Access Center (DAC).
• Supervise or co-supervise student staff and collaborate with professional staff from MSS.
• Design and deliver co-curricular programming and services supporting equity and student well-being.
• Support self-determination, holistic success, and intercultural understanding for Western students.
